For the Serious Skier
Complete with roaring fires, fabulous views of the Alps and an authentic rustic atmosphere, Chalet Floralie - owned by upmarket jewellery designer Annoushka - is tucked away in one of the great Alpine secrets, St Martin de Belleville, an unspoilt Savoyard village in the largest ski area in Europe. The high-speed lift that whisks you into the heart of the Trois Vallées and the phenomenal array of pistes is only 50m away. Recently renovated with the help of London-based interior designer Juliette Byrne, the chalet is rustic and cosy with an accent of modern cool. There are eight lovely bedrooms, each with an en-suite bath or shower room, but it is the communal areas which stand out - think open-plan living and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Alps. And after a day of serious skiing, it would be foolish not to take advantage of the sauna or Jacuzzi. On the chef's night off, why not take a short walk to the Michelin-starred local restaurant La Bouitte?
