More than just a destination, Saint Martin de Belleville offers the perfect combination of a traditional alpine village full of charm with affordable, luxury accommodation and, of course, the extensive Three Valleys ski area. With plenty of appeal, today Saint Martin de Belleville is known for its friendly atmosphere and gourmet cuisine.

Although it is often referred to as the Gateway to the Three Valleys, the village can be easily missed, but just by venturing down past its farms and along its cobbled streets you will discover an old-world charm, rare in the world of ski resorts. A non-stop discovery from the moment you arrive, it is impossible to resist the invitation to dive into Saint Martin de Belleville’s past, with its monuments to village life of yesteryear.

Today a sought-after lifestyle destination, its farm houses have been transformed into cosy chalets and its barns into fine-dining restaurants, while the produce from the remaining farms is put to good use by gastronomic or Michelin-star restaurants. Those who love good food, winter sports, powder snow or ski touring, and who revel in stretches of virgin snow, will simply delight in coming to stay in this exclusive spot where the level of luxury is inspiring without being ostentatious.

No more than 50 metres from the ski-lift, Chalet Floralie, a luxury, staffed chalet, the main body sleeping up to 14 people and a separate self-catered penthouse sleeping 4. These two halves can be combined for larger groups of up 18 people, with no less than five separate living areas making this an extremely comfortable and spacious chalet. A wellness area on the lower-ground floor boasts a jacuzzi and sauna to relax those aching muscles after a hard day skiing, while canapés and aperitifs await when you when ready to enjoy the evening.

In the immediate ski area, Saint Martin is well established for beginner to intermediate skiers. The nursery slopes, located beside the main télécabine, allow new skiers to practice their technique before being able to progress to the long blue run, “Biolley”, which runs from the top of the gondola. The world-famous “Jerusalem” run, on the other hand, starts from the top of the Tougnete Ridge linking to the Biolley run, and is more suited to adventurous skiers.

Of course, from Saint Martin de Belleville, you also have access to the world’s largest interconnecting ski area, the Three Valleys, for an overwhelming choice of pistes and runs to suit all abilities. The main gondola from St Martin was overhauled in 2019 with new cabins and 30% more capacity, making it even easier to access the Three Valleys. With just two lifts, you can ski down to Meribel then can head up the Saulire lift to make your way across to Courchevel. While staying in the Val Thorens valley, you can also head up to 3,230m for some higher altitude skiing.
